This office monitors and inspects compliance with applicable federal and state laws relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974, and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, including compliance with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and related Board policies.
The Office investigates allegations of unlawful discrimination, harassment, retaliation, Title IX violations, and non-compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
The Office also conducts training for administrators relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1974, and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Office also clarifies and interprets District policies and procedures relating to these federal laws.
